Submitting a Request
To submit an Information Rights Request under GDPR, please send your request in writing to FOI@Mendip.gov.uk, or by post to Information Governance, Mendip District Council, Council Offices, Cannards Grave Road, Shepton Mallet, BA4 5BT
You must include your full name, a return address and a details of the information that you are requesting. Mendip District Council has a duty to verify the identity of requesters, and consequently you may be asked to provide proof of your identity.
Where requests are manifestly unfounded or excessive, in particular because they are repetitive, Mendip District Council may:
- charge a reasonable fee taking into account the administrative costs of providing the information; or
- refuse to respond.
Where Mendip District Council refuses to respond to a request, you will be given an explanation as to why your response has been refused. You will then have the right to complain to the supervisory authority and to a judicial remedy without undue delay and at the latest within one month.
