Mendip is part of the county-led Somerset Intelligence Partnership (SIP). A comprehensive range of data and analysis delivered by the partnership can be found on the Somerset Intelligence website.
Within the census pages of the Somerset Intelligence website there are a range of interactive spreadsheets which present the outcomes of the 2011 census, letting users quickly and easily search by Lower Super Output Area, Electoral Ward or Parish. These spreadsheets give a range of key information by geographical area which includes housing, population, ethnicity, religion, health and economic activity data.
The Somerset Health and Wellbeing Board has a statutory duty to produce a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) for the county, which Mendip utilise when setting local priorities. The JSNA for Somerset describes the current and future health, care and wellbeing needs of the local population. Also key to understanding need in the district is the Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) data set, the latest version from 2015 can be found here with the 2010 data available in the documents section below.
