Housing Options Drop in Sessions

Everyone is welcome to visit the Housing Options Team at Mendip District Council Offices, Cannards Grave Road, Shepton Mallet BA4 5BT.

 

The opening times for face-to-face visitors are:

Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays)

Drop in sessions are held with a Housing Options Assistant, supported by a Housing Options Officer - for general housing and Homefinder Somerset enquiries only. Operated on a first come first served basis, enquiry examples include:

  • how to register on the Homefinder Somerset social housing register
  • queries around expressing an interest in social housing properties and banding assessments

Clients who are homeless in an emergency / require in depth homeless prevention advice will be given an emergency appointment to come back later the same day if their homelessness is imminent.

Clients who have general enquiries will not be seen if they call into the offices outside of a drop in session's hours. They will be advised of the next available drop in session.

Emergency Appointments with a Housing Options Officer - for clients who are homeless in an emergency the same day / clients who require in depth housing options / emergency homelessness prevention advice & assistance. Operated on an appointment basis.

For those without internet access and wishing to submit an online application for Social Housing or to express an interest in social housing once they are registered on the social housing register, we have seven computers available for use in our reception area.
